Three Things That You Should Never Waste

Share

We all know it’s bad to be wasteful of anything, because almost everything has a limit.

We conserve water because there’s only so much fresh water on our planet. In fact, while the earth is 70 percent water, only less than 1 percent of it is fresh and usable by humans.

It’s also for the same reason why we should recycle paper—we don’t want to lose all our trees to reckless overconsumption of the commodity.

But, aside from these, there are three things we should be extra conscious of to never, ever squander.

Never waste money that you worked for

Never waste money—especially the income that you worked for. You exchanged time and energy for it, so don’t spend it on stuff that will not add value to your life.

Avoid unnecessary wants that provide superficial and short-term pleasure. Instead, focus on what you need and on what can make you sincerely happy.

Never waste free time that you have

We’re all busy with work, and many now consider finding extra time a luxury. So when you do find yourself some free time, how do you typically spend it?

Unfortunately, a lot of people waste time on doing things that, again, don’t add value to their lives. If you ask me, I recommend taking a rest or spending time with your loved ones. You can also learn something new, pursue a hobby, do volunteer work or, perhaps, find ways to earn extra income.

Gossiping about celebrities isn’t really productive, and so is trolling around social media. Moreover, when you catch yourself just sitting and worrying about the future—you have to stop and find something useful to do.

Never waste knowledge that you learned

If you know how the stock market works but you don’t invest, then you’re worse than someone who knows nothing about it at all.

Why? Because it’s like being a doctor who does nothing to save the life of someone having a heart attack in front of them.

You’ve spent time, energy (and money) on learning something, but you choose to waste all that knowledge by not using it to improve your life.

I’ve met too many people who invested in financial education and, yet, remain poor because they lack application and execution of their financial knowledge. Don’t be like those people.

Life is finite

You cannot work forever. Don’t waste your income. Spend your money on things that add value to your life.

You cannot turn back time. Don’t waste your days. Make each moment productive and meaningful.

We all die someday. Apply what you know so that others learn from you.

Life is finite. Don’t waste it.
